Welcome to the Media streaming service for University of Worcester

Release is a media streaming service developed at UoW to facilitate the delivery of e-learning material in a more reliable and user friendly way. Using YouTube as a proven example of what works it converts audio & video files into a smaller compatible format and presents them within a web browser.

This is an important reminder for colleagues using 'Release' for assessed work by students.

As you know Release has been developed within the University for compression and delivery of multi-media files, primarily video. It is still under development and is therefore not secure.

We do not recommend that this system is used for assessed work and cannot take responsibility should the system fail.

Staff and students using either of these systems must keep personal copies of anything they upload. Teaching staff are asked to make sure that students are aware of this as the University cannot guarantee that work is recoverable.
